Our in-coming WACBE President, Professor K. Kirk Shung, wins the 2011 IEEE-EMBS Academic Career Achievement Award for his contributions to biomedical ultrasonic technology and applications. IEEE-EMBS established the Academic Career Achievement Award to recognize “Outstanding contribution and achievement in the field of Biomedical Engineering as an educator, researcher, developer, or administrator who has had a distinguished career of twenty years or more in the field of biomedical engineering.” Congratulations to Professor Shung on this prestigous recognition!
